Job Title: Photography Internship
Department: Communications & Marketing
Reports To: Director of Public Relations & Photography
FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Term: March – September
Job Purpose: Support the Communications & Marketing department with a primary focus on event and game day photography, photo editing and cataloging, and assisting the Marketing, Creative Services, Social Media, and Public Relations teams to fulfill requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Working with Team Photographer in photographing Reds events and home games at Great American Ball Park; supplying images from Reds events for Reds.com, Reds social media accounts and department needs
• Assist Team Photographer with editing and cataloging photos taken during Reds events and games on team's online photo archiving system (PhotoShelter)
• Assist in taking photos of non-game activities and events at the ballpark, Reds Hall of Fame, Reds Community Fund and Reds Youth Academy
• Working with Creative Services and Marketing on special projects as needed
• Provide support to Marketing and PR staff at Reds events as needed
• General office and administrative support tasks as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong photography and photo editing skills
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Photo Mechanic
• Great communication skills and ability to be a self-starter to help meet department needs
• Knowledge of best photo-tagging practices to simplify the searchability of digital assets
• Strong knowledge and familiarity with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments with the ability to adapt and problem solve
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism around athletes and coaches
• Creative thinker who brings excitement and energy to each day on the job
Schedule:
Approximately 30 hours per week; night/weekend hours will be required
Please Note:
This is a paid, part-time, seasonal opportunity, and no benefits will be provided.
Work Environment:
• Employee will have ''game-day'' responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Remaining work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
• Due to Major League Baseball protocols related to staff who will be performing duties near uniformed personnel, must be fully vaccinated from COVID-19 and ability to provide proof of vaccination prior to start date.
