The Digital Asset Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation, governance, and optimization of the Digital Asset Management (DAM) ecosystem. This role oversees the full lifecycle of photo and video assets-from ingestion and metadata tagging to access management, delivery, and long-term archival-supporting all departments and external partners.
Reporting to the Director of Content & Creative Operations, the Digital Asset Manager works closely with Studios, Marketing, IT, and Communications to ensure assets are discoverable, secure, and efficiently distributed. This role balances hands-on asset management with user support, workflow improvement, and system governance. As a secondary responsibility, the Digital Asset Manager may provide photography coverage for select team, community, corporate partnership, and internal events when additional content support is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Own the day-to-day administration of digital asset systems such as but not limited to PhotoShelter and Mimir, including asset ingestion, metadata standards, taxonomy governance, access controls, and distribution workflows
• Manage the complete photo and video asset lifecycle, including file naming, IPTC metadata tagging, quality control, uploads, delivery, and archival preservation
• Lead preservation and archival cataloging of the historical asset library dating back to 1988
• Ensure assets are consistently categorized, searchable, and aligned with organizational standards through regular audits and quality checks
• Serve as a primary IT Help Desk resource for asset management–related requests, troubleshooting, and user support
• Manage user access and permissions to ensure internal teams can efficiently and securely locate and use assets
• Partner with Communications, Consumer Engagement, and creative teams on special projects and workflow enhancements to improve productivity and user experience
• Review and approve asset uploads from contract contributors and third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with approved metadata, naming conventions, and upload processes
• Support integrations and workflows between PhotoShelter and related tools (e.g., Workfront, OneDrive, Dropbox, FTP solutions, AP Images, CatDV)
• Provide photography coverage for select team, community, corporate partnership, and internal events as assigned.
• Capture and edit still photography consistent with organizational brand standards.
• Assist with game-day or event coverage during periods of increased content demand.
• Ensure photography captured by the organization is properly archived, tagged, and incorporated into the DAM system.
• Support freelance photographers and content contributors by ensuring adherence to established file delivery standards.
• Champion continuous improvement with a focus on operational controls, information security, and risk management
• Document processes, standards, and best practices for DAM usage across the organization
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
You will need to demonstrate the following competencies to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Library Science, Information Science, Archival Science, Communication Management, Marketing, or a related field (preferred, not required)
• Strong experience working with Digital Asset Management systems, with hands-on responsibility for metadata, governance, and user access (PhotoShelter experience strongly preferred)
• Deep comfort working with large-scale media libraries, including still photography and video assets
• Extensive knowledge of macOS environments
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and modern photo/video production workflows
• Familiarity with audio, video, and image file formats, containers, codecs, and delivery standards
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, paired with the ability to think strategically about long-term asset management
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
• Proven problem-solving skills and comfort navigating unique or ambiguous situations
• Strong time management, adaptability, and openness to feedback
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality
• Availability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, home games, and arena events as needed
