KPIX, the CBS owned and operated station in the San Francisco Bay Area, is searching for an Associate Producer. Our ideal candidate is someone capable of communicating complex stories to our diverse audience with fresh and engaging approaches!
We’re looking for more than a show stacker! You will have a hand in all aspects of the production of a newscast and may assist with digital, social, and breaking news coverage. Responsibilities include, but not limited to writing, producing, and editing content. Our top candidate will be someone who will contribute significantly to the station's goal of growing digital-first content and staying ahead in the ever-evolving media landscape. You must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
• Originate, research, lead, write, and edit engaging news segments; will serve as fill-in producer as warranted.
• Work closely with the team to ensure detailed coordination and execution of news stories, both on-air and online.
• Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced, ensuring top-notch quality.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience producing experience, preferably in a professional newsroom.
• Proficiency in non-linear editing.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to quickly review and revise scripts.
• Proven news judgment and expertise in handling breaking news and live shots.
• Ability to excel under fast paced, time-critical situations, and multitask optimally.
• A degree or equivalent experience in broadcast journalism or a related field is preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $75,000.00 - 80,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies.
