CBS Sports is seeking a professional, proactive, and energetic Receptionist/Department Assistant to support front-desk operations and provide administrative assistance to key department leaders. This role serves as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, while also ensuring that daily departmental activities run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment with a love for sports.
This role is fully on site (Mon-Fri) at our 555 West 57th Street office.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Visitor Management
• Serve as the primary contact for all incoming calls, emails, and on-site visitors, delivering a professional and friendly experience.
• Oversee the presentation and organization of the reception area to ensure a welcoming environment.
Administrative & Department Support
• Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents and coordinating calendars.
• Assist with travel arrangements, expense reporting, and procurement of office supplies or equipment.
• Support department-wide communication, event coordination, and project tracking as needed.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages; liaise with internal teams and external vendors.
Operational Efficiency
• Maintain knowledge of departmental processes and CBS Sports protocols to help streamline day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with team members across multiple groups to support cross-functional needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve administrative workflows and contribute to a productive workplace.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in reception, administrative support, or customer service related role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite and ability to learn internal systems quickly.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and composure in a dynamic environment.
