The Role
We are looking for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our team in Los Angeles and serve as a strategic and operational thought leader. Reporting to the VP of FP&A and leveraging a small team of direct reports, the Director will work closely with both Finance and Agency senior leadership to provide crucial insights for the company's continued growth.
Responsibilities
• Produce and help oversee all analyses and work streams conducted by FP&A, including regular monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, development of the annual budget and mid-year reforecast, and all ad hoc financial analyses
• Supervise, manage, and lead a team of FP&A direct reports
• Help prepare quarterly financial Board presentations (and any intervening analyses requested by the Board)
• Provide analysis and commentary for lender and management reporting presentations
• Help develop the company's Long-Range Plan, including alignment with relevant macroeconomic factors and related equity research reports
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other corporate finance groups (including Accounting, Treasury, Agency Operations, and Strategic Development/M&A), as well as with various agency departments across CAA
• Identify and complete system and operational improvement projects, both self-identified and requested by management
Required Experience and Qualifications
• 6+ years of experience in FP&A (or other corporate finance), private equity, investment banking, or management consulting, with increasing responsibility and previous supervisory roles
• Outstanding quantitative and organizational skills, work ethic, and attention to detail
• Skilled at prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines, and thriving under pressure
• Highly self-motivated, a strong sense of intellectual curiosity, and an ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic, results-oriented environment
• Extensive experience and expertise in financial modeling
• Outstanding quantitative and qualitative research skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to present and communicate analysis in a clear and structured manner, and at the Executive/Board level
• Technical skills: Expert Excel & PowerPoint (mandatory); Microsoft Dynamics 365 (helpful); PowerBI (a plus)
• Media & Entertainment expertise a plus
• MBA/CPA/CFA a plus
Location
This role is based out of our Los Angeles office.
Salary/Benefits
$172,000 - $228,000 /year USD
Salary may vary based upon relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location.
