Business Development
Buffalo 8
Santa Monica, CAThis is a Full Time Job
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven professional to join our growing Executive Producer Services division.
This is a sales position, not a creative development or production role. We are looking for someone who enjoys generating business, building relationships, managing a high-volume sales pipeline, and closing deals.
Working directly with the Head of Production & EP Services, you will help drive revenue across one of the company's established business divisions.
The position offers a unique combination of immediate earning potential and long-term career development. You'll gain firsthand exposure to the commercial side of independent film and television while learning how to grow and manage a high-volume business operating across nearly every stage of the entertainment industry.
For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to develop beyond a traditional sales role and grow into broader business development, strategic partnerships, and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Generate new business through outbound prospecting, inbound lead conversion, strategic outreach, and industry networking.
• Manage a high-volume sales pipeline from initial inquiry through negotiation, agreement execution, and closing.
• Lead sales calls and presentations, effectively communicating the value of Buffalo8's Executive Producer Services platform.
• Build and maintain relationships with filmmakers, producers, production companies, and other entertainment industry professionals.
• Negotiate commercial terms, manage proposals, and consistently convert qualified opportunities into paying clients.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and client follow-up schedules.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across Buffalo8 and BondIt's broader production, financing, post-production, and distribution capabilities.
• Represent the company at film festivals, industry markets, networking events, and business development meetings.
• Collaborate directly with senior leadership to improve sales strategy, conversion rates, and departmental revenue.
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of professional experience, ideally including sales, business development, client acquisition, or another revenue-generating function.
• Prior entertainment industry experience is required, with a strong understanding of independent film and television.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, manage multiple opportunities, and drive commercial results.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-volume business.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
• Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline management.
• Willingness to attend film festivals, markets, and industry events as needed.
• Ability to work in person from either our Atlanta or Los Angeles office.
Who We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who is commercially ambitious, polished, persistent, and genuinely excited by the business of entertainment.
You should be as comfortable initiating a cold conversation as you are managing an established client relationship. You understand the importance of follow-through, recognize commercial opportunities, and have the confidence to move conversations toward a decision.
Most importantly, you're motivated by results and eager to grow. We want someone who takes pride in generating revenue, thrives on performance-based compensation, and sees business development as a career rather than a stepping stone to an unrelated creative position.
Salary/Benefits
Compensation & Career Growth:
• $55,000 base compensation plus uncapped, performance-based commission.
• Meaningful learning potential tied directly to individual sales performance.
• Direct mentorship and collaboration with senior leadership.
• Exposure to the full business life cycle of film and television projects, including development, financing, production, post-production, and distribution.
• Opportunities to attend major industry markets, and networking events.
• Clear potential for advancement into senior business development, strategic partnerships, and departmental leadership as the business grows.
