Fall Paid Intern - AI Production & Innovation
Bubba's LA
Burbank, CAThis is a Part Time Paid Internship
This internship is focused on helping us explore, test, and build AI tools and resources that can make our in-house process more efficient and effective. You’ll work alongside our production and creative teams to identify areas where AI could actually be useful, experiment with different tools and approaches, and help turn the ones that work into practical resources we can use across our projects.
Some experiments will work. Some won’t. That’s the point. We’re looking for someone who is excited to dig into new technology, figure out what’s genuinely useful, and help us build a smarter, more effective creative workflow.
This is an in-person Fall 2027 internship based in our Burbank studio. Interns may work up to 24 hours per week. Please note that housing and relocation assistance are not provided.
What You’ll Actually Do:
Research and test AI tools. Explore new AI tools, models and workflows, and run them on real studio material to see where they would actually help in our production process.
Turn a production problem into a clear plan. Work with our producers and creative leads to pin down what a tool needs to do. Then write it up as a short plan in plain language that the team can approve before anything gets built.
Build and test internal tools. Create workflows, prototypes, templates and small apps, often with AI coding assistants, that make our in-house production process more efficient. Build a quick prototype first, and only build the full version once it has proven itself.
Test what you build properly. Write tests and check the output against a set of examples prepared in advance. Find out whether a fix really works for every case, rather than for the one example in front of you.
Track cost and time. Estimate what a tool will cost to run before spending money on it. Record the real cost and running time afterwards, so the team can judge whether it is worth using.
Share your findings with the team. Present your experiments and recommendations to the studio in plain language, show the actual results, and revise based on feedback from our creative and production teams.
Help build our internal AI knowledge base. Document the tools, workflows, prompts, decisions and lessons learned, so that the next person, or the next AI session, can pick up where you left off.
Stay current with emerging technology. Keep up with new AI tools and developments, and help us decide which ones are actually worth exploring for professional creative work.
What You’ll Learn:
How to evaluate AI tools for real production, not just demos.
Where AI fits into a production pipeline, and where it doesn’t.
How to go from an idea, to an agreed plan, to a working tool, step by step.
How to test and measure AI output so you can trust it.
How creative teams make adoption decisions, and how to explain technical findings to people who aren’t engineers.
Direct feedback from working professionals.
We’re looking for someone who:
Is already experimenting with AI
Can stay focused on the problem
Is curious about advertising and production
Comfortable receiving feedback and addressing notes
Thinks like a problem solver
Takes initiative in finding new technologies and resources
Asks questions and speaks up when sharing work

Additional Information
Bubba's LA is a creative studio specializing in animation, motion design, live-action production, VFX, and emerging creative technologies. We're looking for curious, motivated interns who want hands-on experience producing commercial work from concept through final delivery.
We believe the best way to learn is by being part of the process.
Our interns don't just observe; they become part of our team. Whether we're developing animation, filming tabletop content, designing motion graphics, experimenting with new AI workflows, or delivering work for major brands, you'll gain firsthand experience in a collaborative creative environment where curiosity, initiative, and learning are encouraged every day.
If you're passionate about storytelling, design, production, technology, ping-pong, and the future of creative content, we'd love to hear from you.
Resume
A link, a file, a screen recording, anything. Rough is completely fine and we’d genuinely rather see the weird one than the polished one.
A brief cover letter describing why you think AI isn’t good enough yet for professional creative work.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
