We're looking for someone to start work in September or possibly early October 2026 and continue for at least six months. Also, there is the potential for the working relationship to continue well beyond six months. The employer will be looking to hire an a Video Editor/Motion Designer into a full-time role in the coming year, so this freelance engagement could lead to discussions about a DC-based, staff position.
We expect the workload to be at least 20 hours/week, but there may be weeks during which the firm is seeking up to 30 hours of support. We are interested in hearing from experienced Video Editors/Motion Designers who are seeking consistent work anywhere in the 20 to 30 hours/week timeframe.
Applicants should be able to offer regular dayside availability. However, the person in this role will not be locked into specific working hours. This is an ideal opportunity for a full-time freelancer who is committed to supporting their own clients between 9am and 5pm each day, and is looking to add one more highly active client to their workflow.
Much of the work will be done in support of a specific corporate entity, the name of which we can share directly with the most well qualified applicants. Work will primarily include short videos/animations for social media, along with occasional explainer video support.
Field production and camera experience isn't required, but is considered a value-add. There may be opportunities to participate in local, Washington, DC-area shoots.
