Full Time Unpaid Internship
BMI is seeking energetic, dedicated and creative current college or university students to join our team as paid Interns this summer.
POSITION SUMMARY: The 2020 Nashville Digital Licensing Summer Intern will help our team on both licensing and operational needs, including lead generation, prospect validation, customer service/operations support and compliance review. The Summer Intern will also support the sales team by monitoring and responding incoming inquiries from our email inbox and website submissions. Additionally, this position will help support our existing accounts with various tasks related to report requests and processing, general inquiries and account updates, as well as any ad-hoc projects as needed.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Review list of current prospects and validate for license requirements.
• Review backlog prospect leads to determine current status and, if appropriate, create Music Use Memos and escalate to sales staff.
• Research and prepare brief "cheat sheets" to help managers prepare for licensing calls and other negotiations including legal escalations.
• Assist in customer contact for monthly report requests, and research returned emails for new or updated contact information.
• Salesforce: Ad Hoc duties related to reporting on current data, verification and clean-up, as well as system testing if/when applicable. Also monitoring outstanding tasks and activities as assigned.
• Nashville end of summer recap presentation for HR, as well as for Digital team.
• Review all cold outreach non-responders flagged for further research via respective system report.
• Help identify accounts behind on reporting, and including those that are current and have always reported on time as part of a customer service initiative.
• Assist with research related to minimum fee accounts that do not report to determine if additional fees may be owed or if reports can be waived.
• Other research & tasks as assigned.
INTERN QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Preferred majors include, but are not limited to:
• Business Administration
• Music Business
• Digital Media & Technology
• Media & Communications
• Journalism
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Must participate in an accredited college or university internship program
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student
• Must return to school in the Summer or Fall of 2020
Skills
and Abilities:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office, specifically in Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Strong research, documentation and presentation skills
• Proficient in internet research, market intelligence and data collection/analysis
• Proficient in social media platforms
• Detail-oriented, self motivated and organized
