Los Angeles, CAThis is a Freelance Job
Freelance Producer (Audio + Video)
Location: Los Angeles (in-person required)
Type: Freelance / Contract
Schedule: Project-based, with potential for ongoing work
About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced freelance producer to support in-person audio and video productions for podcasts and YouTube content in Los Angeles. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on set, understands both creative and logistical production, and can keep shoots running smoothly from pre-production through wrap. You'll work closely with a small, senior creative team to execute polished, story-driven content - not influencer vlogs, not hobby podcasts.
What You'll Do:
• Manage on-site production for podcast and YouTube shoots (audio + video)
• Coordinate pre-production logistics: run of show, schedules, talent coordination, shoot prep
• Serve as the point person on shoot days to keep production moving efficiently
• Support recording sessions (mic setup oversight, room readiness, flow of conversation)
• Collaborate with directors, DPs, and editors to ensure clean handoff post-production
• Troubleshoot calmly and professionally when things shift (because they always do)
What We're Looking For:
• 3+ years experience producing podcast and/or YouTube content
• Comfortable producing in-person shoots (not remote-only)
• Strong understanding of audio workflows and video production basics
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Clear communicator with talent and crew
• Based in Los Angeles and available for on-site work
Nice to Have:
• Experience producing multi-camera podcasts or vodcasts
• Familiarity with YouTube-first content strategy
• Experience working with hosts, creators, or public-facing talent
• Background in unscripted, interview, or narrative formats
Why This Role Is Different:
This is not a one-off gig and not a junior PA role. We're looking to build a trusted bench of freelance producers who can plug into shoots seamlessly and grow with the slate as production expands.
If you're someone who can bring structure to creative environments and keep things moving without ego, we'd love to hear from you.
