Seeking an experienced Technical Designer / Technical Lead for The Signal, a 90-minute immersive theater production premiering in March 2026. The role includes designing lighting, sound, and atmospheric systems across three connected environments; coordinating equipment rentals; overseeing install; shaping cue structure; and integrating technical elements into nontraditional spaces. Optional show operation during tech/performance depending on experience.
Ideal candidates have immersive, experiential, themed entertainment, site-specific, or escape-room/haunt technical backgrounds. Strong problem-solving skills in unconventional venues required.
Salary/Benefits
$4,000 - $7,500 Project Fee

Awakening Adventures is a creative studio developing original immersive theater, site-specific experiences, and narrative-driven live events. Our work blends atmospheric design, intimate storytelling, and unconventional spaces to create worlds that feel discovered rather than staged. Founded by producer Stephen Shelley, Awakening Adventures is currently developing The Signal in Los Angeles, the first in a series of interconnected immersive projects launching in 2026. We prioritize small, focused teams, strong artistic collaboration, and creating experiences that invite audiences into deeper states of presence, curiosity, and wonder.
