Social Media Producer, Crime Junkie
This is a full-time, in-person position located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
About the Role
As the Social Media Producer, Crime Junkie, you’ll create and manage compelling, platform-native social content that grows and engages the Crime Junkie audience across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, and emerging platforms. Embedded within the Crime Junkie team, you will translate podcast episodes, talent moments, and brand initiatives into high-impact social storytelling. This is a creative, execution-focused role that blends journalism, short-form video editing, and real-time content planning — designed to keep our top-performing show culturally relevant, deeply resonant, and consistently engaging across social.
What You’ll Do
• Produce, edit, and publish high-quality native content for Crime Junkie across Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, X, and more.
• Repurpose long-form podcast content into short-form, shareable formats that increase reach and discovery.
• Clip, caption, and format audio and video content optimized for each platform.
• Own the Crime Junkie social publishing calendar aligned to episode releases, tentpole campaigns, and community moments.
• Collaborate with internal partners, hosts, and reporters to generate behind-the-scenes content and compelling social-first narratives.
• Pitch scalable content formats and series tailored for platform behavior and fan engagement.
• Maintain Crime Junkie’s brand voice and uphold editorial standards across all platforms.
• Monitor audience sentiment, highlight trends, and provide insights to marketing, editorial, and leadership teams.
• Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, shares, saves) and optimize strategy based on results.
• Support broader brand campaigns, launches, and fan club initiatives through strategic social execution.
What You Will Bring to the Table
• 3 years of experience producing social media content for a brand, creator, or media outlet.
• Advanced editing skills using in-platform tools or programs like CapCut, Adobe Premiere, and Canva.
• Strong platform fluency, especially with Instagram and TikTok.
• Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and sensitivity when working with true crime content.
• Proven ability to translate long-form journalism into visually compelling short-form content.
• Experience balancing evergreen and real-time content while managing a publishing calendar.
• Strong organizational, storytelling, and communication skills.
• Background in journalism or criminal justice reporting is a plus.
