This Trainee role is a crucial part of the Atlanta Braves Community Affairs & Atlanta Braves Foundation team and will support a diverse range of departmental programs and initiatives, both in-ballpark and in the community. A successful Community Affairs and Atlanta Braves Foundation Trainee has a passion for service and a desire to collaborate with others to make a lasting positive impact. This position also requires a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects at once.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Support the day-to-day operations of the Atlanta Braves Community Affairs and Atlanta Braves Foundation team, ensuring efficiency and operational excellence in all projects
• Manage in-kind donation requests
• Organize and coordinate nightly gameday and monthly online auctions
• Manage the department's email inbox by answering all inquiries or directing the appropriate team member in a prompt manner with excellent customer service
• Support the department's communication efforts, including organizing content for monthly Community Newsletter, assisting with social media content, and updating the departmental calendar
• Help with VIP field visits, first pitches, pre-game presentations, in-park recognition, in-game features, etc. for department
• Assist in planning and execution of in-park awareness days such as Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Lou Gehrig Day, Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, and more
• Support the planning and execution of corporate-sponsored community events such as Women's Baseball Clinic, blood drives, food distributions, and more
• Assist in processing department mail and game entertainment requests
• Manage in-game matrix message program (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)
• Process nightly 50/50 Raffle winner's paperwork
• Maintain inventory for all autographed and game-used memorabilia
• Support all game day events and initiatives and community events
• Collect and distribute all departmental inbound mail
TRAINEE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
• College graduate, Bachelor's or Master's, with a GPA of at least 3.0 at graduation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and within all levels of the company
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Customer service oriented
• Excellent executive presence
• Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays
• Must complete a background check
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Passion to work in the sports industry and with non-profits
• Ability to work 81 home games and outside events
• Ability to successfully multi-task and maintain organization
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Ability to work well with others
