Winter Intern - Social Media

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

We're hiring interns ASAP for a 100% remote part-time internship that will last 16 weeks, focused on social media and digital promotion for the podcast Mr. Irrelevant. This virtual internship is podcast-based under the Story Merchant umbrella, offering hands-on experience in podcast marketing, content creation, and audience growth.

Responsibilities:
Interns will primarily assist with social media and marketing support for the Mr. Irrelevant podcast, including:

• Reviewing each podcast episode and writing the official episode description weekly (episodes are 20-30 minutes and may go up to 40 minutes down the line)
• Writing captions for 3-4 social media posts per episode (video clips will be provided)
• Developing additional creative social ideas to promote the podcast, guests, and host, including creating still graphics or making videos using trending audio, etc.
• Scheduling social media posts for the podcast across Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and TikTok
• Supporting other digital marketing or content initiatives surrounding the podcast

Preferred Background:
Applicants with experience in social media management, podcast promotion, digital marketing, or content creation will be considered. Samples or links to samples of social content created is highly preferred. Opportunity will be sought to further educate interns in podcasting, commercial storytelling, and digital media strategy.

Requirements:
• Strong writing skills, creativity, reliability, and attention to detail
• Familiarity with major social platforms and content trends
• Comfortable using social media, content creation tools like Canva or your preferred method
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Must be able to commit part-time hours per week (around 6-8 hours). We are flexible and know that this internship will be done around other work, school, or other projects!

Must commit to a minimum of sixteen weeks (longer internships for academic credit or career coaching opportunities are welcome)
