Position Information:
• Start Date: January 4 – June 4, 2027
• Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday
• Location: This position is fully remote and can be performed from anywhere in the United States
Intern, Financial Literacy Podcast - Marketplace:
This internship is a great opportunity if you want to pursue a career in journalism and podcasting. You'll develop your skills as an emerging journalist to create financial literacy programming with an emphasis on explainers and human-centered news-you-can-use - working with an experienced team who will guide them thoughtfully. This position will collaborate across platforms and departments and be responsible for work on podcasts, the website, social, and broadcast.
Key Learning Goals:
Our Podcast teams are small and collaborative. You will have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills -- from technical skills, like recording and editing audio, to soft skills like communication, critical thinking, and teamwork. Through this immersive learning experience, you will learn:
• Learn to produce podcast episodes from start to finish, with minimal supervision
• Develop the ability to adapt and extend journalistic content across multiple platforms—including video, social media, and digital
• Learn to capture and maintain the unique voice and tone of a specific brand or show, while building proficiency across two distinct styles of podcast production
Responsibilities:
In this fast-paced position, you will:
• This is Uncomfortable podcast- Collaborate with show producers to brainstorm, book, prep, edit tape, prepare scripts, implement feedback, fact checking, etc.
• Million Bazillion - Collaborate with show producers to shape scripted episodes
• Audio producing and editing - record interviews, cut tape, and sound design
• Research and fact checking - prepping hosts and making sure scripts are accurate
• Collaborating with additional digital teams to create web and social extensions, working alongside producers to do so
Required Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a college or university, or graduated within the past 18 months
• Available full-time (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.) throughout the internship
• Some professional newsroom experience (e.g. college: newspaper, radio station, magazine, etc.)
• Demonstrate interest/experience in financial literacy, the role money plays in our lives, or the economy
• Some experience in some sort of audio platform
Preferred Qualifications
• Interest/experience working on a weekly podcast
• Interest and maybe some experience in video (short form)
• Interest in comedy, pop culture, kids edu-tainment

Salary/Benefits
$20.00 /hour USD
