Job Summary:
KFSN-TV/ABC30 Action News is seeking a General Assignment Reporter to join our top-rated news team. We want someone who thrives on breaking news and excels at telling accurate, balanced, and engaging stories.
The ideal candidate will report for the station's newscasts and digital platforms, all while keeping the audience updated along the way on social media. Our reporters are expected to turn creative and memorable stories, often fronting them with active live shots. The ideal candidate innovates, pitches strong stories, and is willing to experiment with new technology. This person must be organized, flexible, and work well under pressure and constant deadlines. We want someone who is naturally curious, receptive to feedback, and brings a positive attitude every day.
Responsibilities:
• Research, set up interviews, and write content daily.
• Collaborate with photojournalists, producers, assignment editors, and managers to execute story assignments.
• Effectively deliver breaking news live on-air, without a script.
• Shoot and edit stories as needed.
• Fill-in anchor as needed.
Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years of reporting experience preferred. Candidates with demonstrated storytelling and journalism skills will also be considered.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of the Central Valley
• Bilingual skills
• Success creating engaging vertical videos for social media

- 70,000.00

Base pay may vary depending on geographic region and job-related factors
