Description
Job title: Paralegal and Assistant – Legal & Business Affairs
Responsible to: Head of Legal & Business Affairs
Department: Eagle Rock Entertainment
Location of work: Wandsworth Town
Main purpose of role
• Provide general legal and administrative support to Eagle Rock's Business Affairs team based in London.
• Support and assist the Business Affairs team in the drafting, review and negotiation of key commercial contracts with licensing partners, television broadcasters, theatrical partners and digital partners.
• Draft, review and negotiate standard template agreements for visual media rights.
• Research local laws and review and consider the implications and commercial considerations such laws have on visual program exploitation and distribution.
• Provide legal support to the Production Team and assist in the drafting, issuing and negotiations of production related contracts.
• Produce and maintain a database of contracts and legal documents.
• Regularly circulate deal summaries and deal updates to the business.
• Perform contract analysis and management, including the input of key deal terms into a contract database system.
• Perform general administrative and support duties including coordinating the signature of both artist and commercial agreements.
• All other duties as directed by the Head of Legal.
Person Specification
Essential
• LLB/BA/BSc degree with an LPC qualification
• Experience in music or strongly musically/media minded
• Experience with music publishing rights
• Understanding of music rights
• You must possess the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines, with a strong sense of initiative
• You will need excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to explain difficult concepts to colleagues
• Careful attention to detail
• Capable of working under pressure and maintaining calm
• Excellent analytical and research skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Commercial experience, preferably within music.
