UMe is presently seeking a Director, Marketing Operations in the company’s Santa Monica, CA location. This role will facilitate the development of strategies, processes and platforms for the marketing team as well as oversee their implementation, measurement and progress. Core functions include development and realization of reporting, tools, metrics, benchmarks, technology initiatives, and infrastructure that will support and improve the operations of the marketing team. This position must research, identify and document the needs and workflows of Marketing, Commercial, International, A&R and other departments. This role will work directly with Universal executive staff and teams within UMe; as such this position is a visible and prominent role inside the organization.
Job Functions:
• Benchmark the organization’s marketing activities, performance and investment against industry best practices; develop a roadmap for improvements and necessary changes
• Identify, recommend and lead the implementation of marketing operations technology initiatives
• Create and automate systems to capture, assess and report on the massive data pool generated by marketing efforts
• Manage, allocate and create process around Marketing resources, both human and financial
• Assess the organization’s capabilities against objectives; build required infrastructure to achieve these goals
• Maintain institutional knowledgebase by creating a shared repository of reports, results, analysis, tools and best practices
• Ensure consistent messaging and adherence to brand standards and best practices
• Facilitate and optimize information flow around the company, including to and from the executive leadership team
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Extreme analytical skills – must be able to fully immerse in marketing workflows and understand processes, paint points and stakeholder needs from the highest levels down to the smallest details -
• Expert-level understanding of the technology marketplace powering today and tomorrow’s marketing efforts -
• Extensive experience in digital marketing, CRM, fan engagement and analytics using platforms such as Google Analytics, Salesforce, etc?
• Proven ability to build and manage strategic technology partnerships -
• Strong grasp of collaboration and asset management tools -
• Excellent presentation, communication and analysis skills -
• An unquenchable thirst for innovation, experimentation and reinvention
• Ability to handle multiple projects and operate effectively in a high-pressured environment
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-team capacity
Experience:
• 5 years in marketing strategy, technology, operations, or similar fields. Music industry experience preferred but not required.
Education:
• Bachelor’s preferred.
