Spring Intern - Content/Editorial Writing

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Internship Start Date: January 22nd

Internship Duration: Remote 3-4 months

Type of Role: Internship Unpaid, (5-9 hours per week. Hours can be negotiated)

Job Purpose
This position will contribute to creating engaging and informative articles for our audience of activists, artists, advocates, allies, and entrepreneurs. We are looking for 5- 8 new writers.

Essential Functions
• Researching and writing well-crafted articles on various topics for publication on our digital platform.
• Generating creative ideas and pitches for captivating content that aligns with our magazine's style and tone.
• Work with the editorial team to ensure articles are accurate, timely, and adhere to our publication guidelines.
• Proofreading and editing own work to maintain high-quality standards of writing.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest trends, news, and developments in digital media and incorporating relevant insights into articles.
• Collaborating with the creator's studio to help create social media and video content to accompany written material.

Skills and Qualifications
• Excellent writing skills with a flair for creativity and storytelling.
• Availability to meet once a week to pitch story ideas and collaborate with team.
• Pursuing or recently completed coursework in creative writing, journalism, communications, English, or a related field (recommended though not mandatory).
• A strong command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Passion for digital media, content creation, and a willingness to learn and grow as a writer.
• Familiarity with SEO and digital marketing concepts is a plus but not required.
