Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Film Finance & Operations Manager with extensive experience in Collection Account Management Agreements (CAMAs) and film guild regulations. This role is critical in overseeing the financial, legal, and operational aspects of our film projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards while managing multiple film entities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CAMAs, union agreements (SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, IATSE, etc.), and film finance structures, as well as expertise in handling complex financial reporting and legal documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage individual film waterfalls, ensuring accurate revenue projections and distributions.
• Set up, review, and monitor Collection Account Management Agreements (CAMAs) to ensure proper financial oversight and revenue distribution for film projects.
• Oversee incoming gross receipts, tracking their allocation and compliance with contractual agreements.
• Maintain and update the company's debt schedule, ensuring accurate financial forecasting.
• Manage bookkeeping for the parent company and over 40 film entities, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
• Compile and oversee financial closing checklists for film projects.
• Work closely with the bookkeeper and CPA to process 1099s, K-1s, and state/federal tax returns.
• Oversee and track tax credit audits for each project, ensuring maximum benefit and compliance.
• Ensure all legal agreements are fully executed, with a focus on guild compliance, revenue participation, and production finance terms.
• Manage the legal and physical delivery of films to sales agents and domestic distributors, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
• Develop and execute finance plans for individual films, securing funding and structuring investments.
• Facilitate the process of becoming a union signatory for productions, ensuring compliance with SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, and IATSE requirements.
• Work closely with legal representatives to address and resolve disputes related to company operations and film projects.
• Conduct financial analysis of revenue streams, expenses, and profitability across projects.
• Process vendor payments and ensure all necessary backup documentation is in place.
• Oversee payroll administration, ensuring compliance with union rules and company policies.
• Manage internal workflow processes for both the parent company and individual films.
• Collaborate with company leadership to align financial operations with business goals.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in film finance, production accounting, and film operations.
• Extensive knowledge of Collection Account Management Agreements (CAMAs) and their role in film revenue distribution.
• Strong understanding of SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, IATSE, and other union regulations, including the process of becoming a signatory.
• Experience managing multiple entities and financial structures within the entertainment industry.
• Expertise in tax credit audits, revenue waterfalls, and investor reporting.
• Familiarity with legal contracts related to film financing, distribution, and guild compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and forecasting.
• Proficiency in bookkeeping software, payroll systems, and financial reporting tools.
• Highly organized with exceptional multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with legal teams, external auditors, and sales agents is a plus.
Salary/Benefits
$100,000.00 - 120,000.00 per year
