Intern - International Sales & Distribution

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

XYZ Films is seeking an independent, proactive and motivated International Sales intern for 2 to 3 days per week with flexible hours. The internship is unpaid and school credit can be provided.

The International Sales Intern will be exposed to the worlds of international film sales and markets as well as film finance and operations within a company.

Interns will be asked to do general administrative and project based tasks. They will learn how to evaluate scripts and screeners from a sales perspective and will weigh in on criteria such as commerciality, marketability, appropriate cast, etc. They will learn about the art of negotiating/closing a deal and the major deal points involved in a distribution deal. Additionally they'll participate in the necessary steps one must take when preparing to attend a market/festival and the festival circuit (EFM, Cannes, TIFF & AFM) as a whole.

Throughout the internship, interns will have the opportunity to sit in on company conference calls and meetings and schedule Q&A sessions with all executives in each department allowing for a more in-depth and well-rounded learning experience. Interns will also be taught essential entry-level desk coverage skills so they are prepared for their first job in the industry. Interns at XYZ have the unique opportunity to learn how films are made from the ground up by getting exposure to each department.

SKILLS

Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, etc.)

Proficient/confident in typing & speaking English.

Independent, self-starter, proactive, motivated to learn with a positive attitude.

Confident with script coverage

REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to start in person on the 10th January with a zoom training session on December 13th.

Must be willing to commit a minimum of 12 weeks from the date of hiring

Must have a laptop

Must be passionate about Film, TV, and the entertainment industry as a whole

Able to travel to our offices based in La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, CA.

Open to an applicant in another state who maybe able to be physically at the office for part of the internship & we may consider you for other internships within the team if we feel you're better suited.
