Job Summary:
WWE is looking for a creative writer to craft engaging, emotionally sophisticated characters and storylines for Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, and select programming on the WWE Network (streaming on Peacock). The role involves collaborating with a team of writers to develop stories that resonate with a global audience and fit WWE's brand.
Responsibilities:
• Develop emotionally sophisticated characters for WWE talent
• Script thought-provoking and creative storylines for RAW, SmackDown, and other WWE programming
• Collaborate with other writers to create stories that appeal to a diverse, global audience
• Review and edit scripts for continuity and flow
• Incorporate consumer insights and social media trends into storylines
• Travel weekly to WWE shows (RAW or SmackDown) and periodically to Premium Live Events (PLEs)
• Attend and contribute to weekly creative writing team meetings at WWE’s Stamford, CT headquarters
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience writing for TV or film
• Producing and directing experience is a plus
• Professional experience in TV or film staff roles preferred
• Live TV production experience is a plus
• Experience working with on-screen talent, creative writers, and producers
• Understanding of WWE’s audience and demographic is preferred
• BA/BS in Film, TV, Drama, Media Studies, Communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
Additional Requirements:
This role requires weekly travel to shows and rotating travel to WWE's Premium Live Events, along with regular attendance at creative writing team meetings in Stamford, CT.
