Role: VP, Affiliates
Reporting to: EVP, Marketing
WWE creates world class content which connects with fans all over the world and we are looking for a VP of Affiliates to manage the marketing relationships with our key broadcast partners. This role requires a desire to go above and beyond on client relationships and to build valuable and authentic partnerships which are mutually beneficial for all parties.
The role is highly target driven to:
• Acquire new audiences for each broadcast partner.
• Identify new areas for talent and brand integrations across all affiliate platforms.
• Re-engage valuable known audiences and influence affiliate lifecycles to ensure a strong WWE presence.
• Support content franchises & Premium Live Events (PLE) with bespoke plans by network.
• Plan and execute fan activations for affiliate audiences at selected events.
• Assist commercial & revenue partnerships in planning & execution where required.
• Be an effective team leader and a member of the Marketing Leadership Team.
This role requires experience of senior relationship management and a deep knowledge of the US media landscape.The preferred candidate will have exceptional stakeholder management skills as they work across Creative teams at WWE and balance the needs of our affiliate partners.A dual ability to deliver both tactical plans and long-term strategies for growth across the contract lifecycle is a must.
Responsibilities
• Create and optimize an audience development strategy for affiliate audience growth, focusing on acquisition and retention.
• Regular meetings with all affiliates to ensure superior account management and a proactive approach.
• Communicate clear and actionable audience characteristics, behaviors & insights that will help WWE and its affiliate partners.
• In close collaboration with the Creative Writing, TV & Talent Relation teams, shape effective audience development initiatives & campaigns that drive audience growth for live and on-demand.
• Management of key senior relationships with the WWE EVP, Marketing for NBCU, Fox, Peacock and assist with selected international partners in conjunction with the international team.
• Working with the WWE EVP, Marketing & the CEO office, develop a strategy for WWE integration into affiliate upfronts to educate all key stakeholders on the upcoming season and key highlights.
• Be the day-to-day conduit for all things WWE for our affiliates, ensuring regular updates on talent signings, relevant new storylines and PLE's.
• Nurture strong relationships with the Content, Media & Creative teams that allows the Talent & Content to be maximized across all affiliates. Develop quarterly plans to reflect the Content & Event schedule, Community and Brand activity and use these to grow and engage affiliate audiences.
• Manage the Affiliates budget including the accurate planning and forecast of key KPIs.
• Provide transparent and regular marketing effectiveness reports, educating all parties on what is working but also how we can surprise and delight fans further.
• Working with the VP, Marketing Operations, ensure effective quarterly customer planning, supporting the events calendar and the QBR review process.
• Analyze campaign performance across channel mix optimizing to meet agreed targets.
• Identify any platform and tool requirements building out business cases for increased investment.
• Establish leadership and personal development of the Affiliates team to drive a more commercial focus and adopt a 'plan, do, review' culture.
• Manage, develop, and encourage all staff, setting SMART PDR objectives aligned to strategic goals.
• Build the capability and capacity of individuals through insight and constructive feedback to enable team effectiveness.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
This role requires a strong team player who has a collaborative & partnership approach to their work. Proven management experience, including delegation, motivation, and crisis management to drive a team to achieve targets. This individual must have exemplary interpersonal skills, and an ability to get the best out of junior staff and communicate across the company. The individual must also be able to work across departments, including management of internal and external stakeholders.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum 5 years' experience.
• Deep knowledge of the US media & broadcast landscape.
• Senior account manager experience with clear client testimonials demonstrating performance.
• Expert knowledge of digital marketing channels across multiple revenue streams, media buying and compelling growth techniques with a target driven approach.
• Clear & knowledgeable strategic thinking that inspires innovative & effective work.
• Understanding of tools and techniques used in marketing and audience development.
• First class program management skills and ability to balance short term delivery targets and marketing campaign requirements with longer term development of transformational change.
• Extremely strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across a fast moving, multi-faceted organization.
• Strong negotiating and influencing skills, demonstrated both through relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party agencies.
• Expertise in performance monitoring / tracking and budget management.
• Understanding of tools and techniques used in marketing and audience development.
• Excellent budgetary skills demonstrating efficiency of spend & effectiveness.
• Understanding of econometric and attribution modelling across the marketing funnel.
• A creative and critical eye for creative assets and used to working with creative teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
• Wider brand and marketing experience as an experienced and well-rounded marketeer.
• Technical knowledge of data structure, attribution & analytics.
• Leadership capability to drive high performing teams.
• Strong communication skills, able to build relationships and influence at all levels internally and externally.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to communicate and present ideas/strategies to different audiences and a passion for finding solutions to enhance performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills. A good influencer with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
• Well-organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience of the Sports Entertainment / Media industry is preferred.
