Overview
Support the RFP/Bid Process, and assist in generating recommendations for the placement of future major events including WrestleMania, Money In the Bank, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble, and Tribute to the Troops, as well as annual Pay-Per-View events. Subsequent to Host City selections for WWE's major annual events, work with internal and external partners to plan and execute each of those respective events.
Contribute to the Special Events team by building, maintaining, and retaining positive relationships with Public and Private sector partners to include government and elected officials, Sports Commissions, Convention and Visitor's Bureaus, chief corporate citizens, etc. around the globe in order to assist in the continued growth of the WWE Brand both domestically and internationally. In addition, assist in developing incremental business opportunities for each of WWE's major annual events.
Key Initiatives and Responsibilities
• Charged with serving as a brand ambassador for WWE and its major annual events within the local Host Cities in which those events are taking place.
• Work with the EVP of Special Events and effected departments to develop and set forth an effective strategy for the planning and execution for all aspects of major events
• Support the EVP of Special Events in acting as a liaison for Live Events, Television/Production, Marketing, and CPG on all of the associated negotiations, and Marketing and Promotions related to the live events in connection with WWE's major annual event presentation
• Responsible for influencing team, cross-functional and external partners in support of agreed upon objectives and budget targets
• Work with the EVP to identify and secure incremental incentives from prospective Host Cities for the placement of WWE's major annual events and annual PPVs
• Partner with local Sports Commissions and/or Convention & Visitors Bureaus in developing marketing, publicity, promotional and travel-related opportunities, as well as building local and regional partners as part of each Host City's Local Organizing Committee
• Serve as liaison between the LOCs and all departments of WWE, working to keep lines of communication open
• Assist the EVP of Special Events with the day to day management of the on-going partnership between WWE and Full Sail University in Orlando
Communications
• Communicate with key day-to-day WWE contacts on a regular basis
• Provide weekly updates in connection with WWE's major annual events and PPVs
• Attend and assist in various meetings to foster positive communication, and endeavor to keep WWE departments and staff updated on various developments and status related to WWE's major annual events
Experience Requirements & Qualifications:
• BA degree in relevant areas or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years special events and/or event management experience
• Ability to travel about 20% and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, demonstrable Excel and Word proficiency, strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to set goals and have a vision to lead and promote WWE's major annual events
• Experience collaborating with internal and external resources in developing and/or contributing to strategic initiatives that meet department goals within budget and established timelines
• Project management experience
• Demonstrated experience and ability to think critically while working in a dynamic, high pressure team environment, fostering a sense of urgency and commitment to achieving goals
• History of comprehensive leadership and associated successes
