This is a Full Time Job
The Director of Social Platform Strategy is responsible for defining and executing WWE's strategy across all social platforms. This individual will oversee a staff of platform strategists & editors who hone the social tone of voice and content mix for the world's biggest sports-entertainment brand.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing audiences, meticulous in their attention to detail and tireless in the pursuit of satisfying WWE's massive, and growing, global audience.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee, develop & implement social strategy across all WWE social touchpoints in line with business goals, voice, and individual brand sensibilities
• Monitor and report on trends in our audience growth across all platforms and accounts, and develop strategies to foster and deepen engagement with all audiences
• Collaborate with our data analytics team to understand and optimize performance
• Manage a team responsible for optimizing content on social platforms and maintaining the integrity of all WWE accounts
• Collaborate with road production, editorial & marketing teams to maximise every opportunity for deeper engagement with our fans and broader reach for WWE brand content
• Collaborate with key members of WWE Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Creative Writing and Talent Relations departments to deliver timely, accurate and innovative on-brand messaging across platforms as required
• Actively drive adoption of evolving best practices & and educate all teams on new opportunities in the social media landscape
• Combine data and creative opportunity to create social strategies and content recommendations that will attract and engage fans, build communities and drive growth
• Structure all social campaigns based on goals and KPIs
• Develop and lead testing strategy with the goal of constant iteration and optimization
• Develop and oversee content plans to support key WWE events, initiatives and announcements via social and digital platforms
• Keep current with WWE programming, storylines, talent, brands and products
Background & Qualifications:
• 8 years experience in media or news companies with a focus on video-centric social strategy
• 6 years experience managing teams responsible for social presences for a major brand
• Motivational and influential leadership style
• Demonstrable ability to build and sustain social audiences
• A proven track record of using social to drive subscriptions - specifically for video products - would be considered a major plus
• Deep knowledge of social platforms and best practices and an endless passion for innovation and experimentation in the social space
• Experience using social tools such as Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Crowd Tangle, Socialbakers, Tubular, Wochit, etc.
• Expertise in organic social strategies and tactics on FB, IG, TW, Reddit, and a willingness to assess emerging platforms
• Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas, both written and verbally
• Strong interpersonal skills - demonstrable ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Adept at interpreting data and shaping it into actionable strategies and recommendations
• Comfortable managing and collaborating with external agencies
• Strong copy editing & project management skills
