Summary:
The Director, General Accounting will be responsible for managing the general ledger accounting and related internal controls for WWE. The position will also oversee our accounting systems and both on and off-shore general accounting teams. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Financial Reporting & Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage accounting close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual) for all of WWE's operating business units:
• Review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Review monthly operating results and analyze significant variances from operating plan and prior year
• Establish methodologies and approve calculations for all critical accounts
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures, including proper application and documentation of GAAP in all transactions
• Manage projects and delegate and train staff on new accounting standards and business changes
• Continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the accounting and closing processes
• Supervise and develop the onshore and offshore general accounting teams
• Improve utilization of technology to improve efficiency of the accounting team
• Manage ERP systems, structures and hierarchies
• Assist financial reporting group with audit requirements and compliance
Key Performance Measures:
• Meeting monthly closing deadlines as well as improving
• Achieving efficiencies and improved accuracy of transactions processed during the close
• Optimization of processes performed by the onshore and offshore teams
Qualifications:
• 10 years of Accounting experience including team leadership
• Experience with ERP financial systems and advanced reporting systems
• Entertainment/Media industry experience a plus
• Prior management experience – both on and off-shore preferred
• Experience implementing ERP systems and expanding off-shore team capabilities a plus
• Corporate accounting experience required; CPA and Public Accounting experience a plus
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Organized, flexible, task-oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field of study
