Building Automation Technician
Location: HQ: Stamford - Connecticut
Department: Facilities
The Building Automation Technician is the subject matter expert for managing the building automation systems and smartbuilding software in our new state-of-art Headquarters building. Working alongside the maintenance supervisors, engineers, and coordinating with outside vendors, this position is responsible for all activities related to assessing building systems performance, taking action on alerts and issues, and continually improves the building performance.
Candidates must have a strong work ethic, balancing strategic thinking and analytical skills with results orientation and excellent problem-solving skills in a highly energetic and fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain BMS and Smartbuilding software system
• Assess building system performance against designed operating parameters and implement necessary changes to ensure efficient and effective energy performance
• Troubleshoot, debug, monitor and configure software for building control systems such as HVAC, utility meters, lighting and other sensor systems
• Solve complex problems related to the control systems that direct the operation of building heating, ventilation, air conditioning and equipment
• Program advanced control equipment and building automation systems to implement essential changes that match building and occupant requirements
• Connect new equipment, components and sensors into the building control system
• Coordinate work with building engineers
• Train and educate other staff
• Assists with tracking maintenance performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
• Create dashboards and generate reports as needed
Qualifications:
• Associates degree in Engineering, Technology, or similar
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with BMS, BAS and Smartbuilding systems
• Minimum of 3 Years experience with planning, coordinating and auditing overall facilities/maintenance activities
• Working knowledge of Building Maintenance systems is desirable
• Strong proficiency with productivity software, such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Good communication skills
• Good analytical skills
• Attention to detail
