This is a Full Time Job
Wondery is hiring for a Senior Producer for its narrative limited series podcasts (6-8 episode series like Dr. Death, Harsh Reality and Exposed). This role will work closely with producers, reporters, writers, story editors, hosts and sound designers to oversee story arcs on multiple episode series. If you're a leader, self-starter and a team player with strong script editing skills, and an ear for post-production, we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
• Work closely with the team to run all creative and logistical aspects of production for the show, including managing talent, running production meetings, and troubleshooting when issues arise
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the series, shepherding episodes from inception through the final mix.
• Support the work of reporters including reporting strategy, interview preparation and source management.
• Story edit scripts and outlines for clarity, accuracy, structure and a compelling character-driven arc.
• Provide both top-line notes and specific line edits/revisions, and prepare and approve final scripts, Provide research support as needed.
• Oversee fact checking and legal review process.
• Direct recording sessions with hosts and voice talent.
• Review all mixes and give detailed notes and feedback to sound designers.
• Work with producers and production management on the series calendar and deadlines.
• Track show calendar and deadlines/ make sure all series are on track for each step.
• Insist on the highest journalistic standards across production.
• Participate in research and pitch meetings to identify and shape future series.
Qualifications
• 6 years of relevant experience
• Experience editing scripts, conducting research, and giving sound design notes and direction for story-driven and fact-based shows
• Experience managing day-to-day logistics of a narrative, fact-based shows
