Event and Promotions Coordinator
Location: Hybrid-remote support and New York City events
Commitment: Minimum three months, approximately 16 hours per week
Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. Students interested in receiving academic credit must obtain approval directly from their school. WEDO does not award or guarantee academic credit.
Help Create Events That Empower Women Globally
The Women's Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Event and Promotions Coordinator to support our monthly events and the #WEDO2026 Summit on November 13, 2026, at the United Nations Delegates Dining Room in New York City.
This is an opportunity to gain supervised, hands-on experience while helping create events that connect women entrepreneurs with investors, family offices, Fortune 500 leaders, philanthropists, media executives, and global changemakers.
The #WEDO2026 Summit will feature extraordinary leaders, including Kendra Scott, Allison Ellsworth, Julie Wainwright, Mindy Grossman, Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, Howard Morgan, Jesse Draper, Dr. Kellyann Petrucci, and other influential founders, investors, and business leaders.
What You Will Learn and Support
Assist with planning and promoting WEDO's monthly events and annual United Nations Summit.
Learn how mission-driven events are developed from concept through execution.
Support speaker, partner, sponsor, volunteer, and attendee coordination.
Help create promotional campaigns, invitations, event listings, and social-media content.
Research potential partners, speakers, media contacts, and community organizations.
Assist with RSVP tracking, schedules, event materials, and guest communications.
Participate in supervised planning meetings and receive feedback on completed projects.
Help document event results, engagement, and global impact.
Support on-site coordination for eligible New York City volunteers.
Who We Are Seeking
Passionate about empowering women and creating meaningful social impact.
Organized, dependable, proactive, and attentive to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Interested in events, marketing, public relations, partnerships, nonprofit work, or social impact.
Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
Able to honor the agreed schedule and communicate promptly about assignments.
Canva, social media, event-planning, or promotional experience is helpful but not required.
