NBC 4 New York, the NBC Owned station located in New York, is seeking a talented freelance writer/producer/editor with a passion for solid news promotion. This is a night-side freelance position responsible for writing, producing and editing daily news topicals using a non-linear edit system. Position may also produce special report/investigative promos and POPs on an as needed basis. Must display solid news judgment and excellent conversational writing skills. Must work closely with News Department and management to write and produce compelling spots that meet the strategic goals of the station.
Individual must have strong writing abilities and a solid understanding of video production. Must be able to think conceptually and execute creative in detail. Experience editing video on Final Cut Pro & Adobe Premiere is a must. Experience with After Effects is a must. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours, work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:
• College degree or equivalent work experience.
• Three years promotion experience writing, producing and editing daily news topicals in a medium/major market.
• Must have news editing or news promo editing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to edit on Final Cut Pro & Adobe Premiere non-linear editing systems.
• Demonstrated ability to create motion graphics on After Effects.
• Experience with Photoshop and/or Illustrator a plus.
