Job Description:
The Seattle Storm is seeking a Director of Video & Production will help lead and make decisions about the direction of all creative video content on Storm platforms. Under the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer, the ideal candidate will produce and provide direction on all dynamic and creative storytelling, consistently delivering content that elevates the Storm brand and tells the stories of its players, coaches and team history. This candidate will work within a creative team to ideate, lead and strategize video projects for short term and long-term goals, and collaborate with internal and external partner, including but not limited to communications and PR, marketing and fan experience, corporate partnerships and ticket sales.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead in conceptualizing, planning, shooting, and editing video & production projects that are produced for multiple departments.
• Schedules crews, actors, voice talent and others needed during shoots. Facilitates permits for location shoots. Determines other production needs such as electrical, craft, security, wardrobe, etc.
• Serve as the lead gameday video shooter for home gamedays and content capturer for away games.
• Capture content at practices, shootarounds, events, clinics, etc.
• Assist in press conference capturing with our PR & Communications team.
• Manage two video producers, CP/CSI content coordinator, and seasonal content creatives, and oversee shoots and editing schedules, creative concepting, production workflows and ensures productions stay within the predetermined budget.
• Oversight of the creation of unique, visual content for the arena, broadcast, and marketing groups which includes working with third-party vendors and partners to design and build motion graphics and video effects packages.
• Co-Manage a budget for the digital, video & production team.
• Track our department's needs in production equipment and invest in upgrades in the always shifting technology world.
• Work with external and internal stakeholders to ideate production creative, determine needs and complete projects on time and on budget.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in a related field, and 3 years of production and motion graphics experience. Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite software, specifically Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop.
Knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery. Knowledge of camera, lighting, sound and editing. Understanding of online video environment and online distribution. Demonstrated ability to perform repairs on a wide variety of audio, visual and computer equipment. Ability to adapt equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.
Good interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience. Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment. Effective time management skills.
This position will require working on weekends, evenings, holidays, and flexible shifts.
Candidates will be asked to provide an online portfolio/reel that demonstrates the above job functions.
Please note, we are in an industry where weekend and/or night work may be required during the basketball season.
Salary and Benefits:
$70,000 - $80,000 base compensation per year

401(k) plan that allows employees to make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to a retirement investment account (eligibility begins following one-year of service provided the employee is permanent full-time or part-time with 1,000 hours of continued service) with a matching employer contribution equal to 100% of the employee's contributions, up to 4% of the employee's compensation.
Sick and vacation leave hours are accrued throughout the year allowing each employee 6 paid sick leave and 10 paid vacation days per year.
