The Role: (Los Angeles or New York Hybrid)
We're looking for a Director, Licensing, to play a key role on the Epic Games portfolio, helping manage the Fortnite licensing business across toys & collectibles, and other key categories, with a focus on client and partner management. This is a high-impact, highly visible position that combines exceptional client management, strategic planning, creative vision, and franchise development expertise. You will work closely with the Associate Vice President who oversees the broader Epic Games business to drive program execution, stakeholder management, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is both a strategist and operator who can navigate a complex, fast-paced client environment while building scalable programs that strengthen Fortnite's position as one of the most culturally relevant brands in the world.
What You'll Do
Lead the day-to-day licensing management for Fortnite, with an emphasis on toys, collectibles, and adjacent categories.
Manage global licensee relationships from product development through retail execution, ensuring creative alignment and commercial success.
Support Epic Games brand and product strategy by translating creative goals into scalable licensing programs and retail initiatives.
Identify and develop new business opportunities across key categories for Fortnite and Rocket League, aligned with brand and retail priorities.
Partner with internal legal, finance, and operations teams to manage deal tracking, royalty performance, and quarterly reporting.
Collaborate with marketing and retail teams to bring licensed products to market through launch campaigns, retail activations, and storytelling moments. • Deliver ongoing category analysis, partner performance insights, and strategic recommendations to optimize portfolio growth.
You Have These:
8–10+ years of experience in licensing, consumer products, or brand management, ideally within gaming, entertainment, or toy categories.
A deep understanding of brand and franchise development, product lifecycles, and global retail trends. • Proven success managing multiple high-profile partners and priorities with precision, diplomacy, and accountability.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to operate confidently in a fast-moving, highexpectation environment.
Clear and persuasive communication style that is collaborative, proactive, and solution driven. • A resourceful, level-headed problem solver who thrives under pressure and takes ownership from start to finish.
