HEAD OF SOCIAL (NEW YORK)
THE ROLE
WMA is looking for a Head of Social (New York) who is a social and marketing expert with proven experience in delivering first class social and digital marketing campaigns within the music and entertainment space alongside leading, managing and developing teams and creating success driven opportunities for business.This position is based in New York City and charged with leading and managing our NY team whilst working collaboratively with the US Head of Social & Digital Marketing to achieve success and growth for the social and digital marketing division in New York whilst working with and supporting WMA's wider global divisions and teams. By working across key clients, collaborating with fellow department heads, utilizing their extensive network and new business development, the Head of Social (NY) will grow the East Coast social and digital marketing business and feed in referrals to fellow departments. The role will provide creative, strategic thinking and execute best in class campaigns for clients in addition to identifying new market opportunities and maximising the growth of our East Coast social division. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week in office in Manhattan, New York.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Overall responsibility for the Head of Social (New York)
- Focus on developing new business leads and relationships within market.
- Successful new business development and delivery against target
- First class key account and client management
- Proven social expertise and established relationships with key platforms.
- Management of social account and digital channel managers.
- Identify recruitment of new team members to grow the New York social team.
- Client management
- Manage a variety of social and marketing projects and clients, whilst working with
key stakeholders to deliver campaign ideation in line with WMA's overall social &
marketing objectives.
- Create and execute exciting and innovative strategies for clients whilst ensuring
output is optimized.
- Drive digital innovation to position artists, brands and WMA as industry leaders.
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners including social platforms,
DSPs, media outlets, sales platforms, influencers.
- Leadership
- Work closely with the US Head of Social & Digital Marketing to lead the New York team to ensure efficient running, profitability and expansion
- Regularly attend and represent WMA at industry events and networking opportunities to integrate within the community and develop new business.
- Manage the New York based Social & Digital Account Managers
- Regular check-ins with your team, maintaining their role development plans.
- Senior oversight on team member's client projects.
- Oversight of new client onboardings.
- Regular check-ins with client points of contact.
- Scope monitoring, reviewing hours, timelines, and ensuring your team is
delivering on what is covered in their scope.
- Identification of areas to develop clients into other parts of the business.
- Department development & service:
- Internal collaboration with the US Head of Social & Digital Marketing, HODs and
Account Managers to discuss processes and share knowledge.
- Feedback sessions with the Senior team to inform the direction of both
departments globally.
- Work with global Social & Digital Marketing HODs to continue developing our
social and digital marketing expertise and service to clients
SKILLSET
- A deep knowledge of and passion for social media, digital marketing and marketing trends within music and entertainment.
- Proficient with budgets, forecast and mindful of efficient money management.
- Proven commercial acumen: new business acquisition, delivering targets, increase in
profit and market share
- Excellent relationship building skills - get to know clients including artists and
management in a friendly bu
