We are looking to expand our team and are seeking a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets and operations at our studio. General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing the team, and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our team develop and be productive. Ultimately, you'll help our company grow and thrive.
Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day operations
• Design strategy and set goals for growth
• Oversee budgets and optimize expenses
• Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
• Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
• Prepare regular reports for upper management
• Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
• Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
• Provide leadership at all levels of the organization
• Build up the company by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and mentoring new talent
• Define and implement policies and performance standards
• Assess departmental and company performance and devise plans for improvement
• Allocate budget resources for supplies, equipment, marketing, and personnel
General Manager Requirements and Qualifications
• Delegation skills are crucial in identifying the best person (or people) for a particular task and act as a facilitator to motivate and direct the work
• Time management skills are important in prioritizing tasks to ensure that projects are completed by deadlines and streamlining processes to maximize productivity
• Negotiation and mediation skills are necessary in finding opportunities to resolve conflicts efficiently and favorably
• Decision-making skills are key to weighing the costs and benefits of various options and determining the best course of action to achieve company goals
• Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
• Experience in planning and budgeting
• Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
• Strong analytical ability
• Excellent communication skills
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Problem-solving aptitude
Preferred
• BSc/BA in Business or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
