The Role
An incredible opportunity exists for an experienced, success and results driven Head of US Publicity based in one of our US locations: New York, Nashville or Los Angeles. The individual is expected to be a driven and motivated publicity expert with proven experience in delivering first class publicity campaigns within the music and entertainment space alongside successful growth and management of a PR team and clients. The position is charged with leading, developing and managing the US PR team to achieve success; supporting and working with the US and global publicity team executing best in class campaigns for WMA's clients, which will include artists, labels, brands and other entertainment businesses; and utilising their extensive network to successfully build and grow opportunities for the business.
In addition, the Head of US Publicity will work closely with senior management to oversee the growth of the publicity team across the US markets; and division heads to drive referrals across the team and explore new business opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsibility for the day to day running of the US Publicity team; including management of the team members.
· Drive and secure new business across the US Publicity team; work closely with the global PR team and WMA division heads on cross-departmental projects and new business briefs
· Maintain accurate financial forecasts and deliver against revenue targets
· Create, execute, manage, and drive innovative digital and full-service PR campaigns to position talent, brands and WMA as industry leaders.
· Drive publicity innovation across the division to position the US publicity team as an industry leader
· Identify additional areas of service to be incorporated into the publicity offering.
· Build and maintain strong media relationships with platforms across all major markets.
· Work closely with key clients to strategize and deliver stellar campaign results
· Work closely with the US MD to lead the strategy and development of the US team and ensure efficient running, profitability, and expansion.
· Oversee recruitment for growth of the US Publicity team.
· Regularly attend and represent WMA at industry events.
· Run meetings, set agendas, act as the central communication hub on internal and external PR projects.
SKILLSET
• Proven and demonstratable experience within the music and/or entertainment industry.
• Proven experience in new business generation
• Ability to achieve and maintain financial targe
• Deep knowledge of and passion for all forms of publicity and promotion.
• Ability to multitask in a high energy environment; you will be responsible for managing a team and multiple projects whilst seeking best forms of practice and delivering against targets.
• Ability to maintain and manage a wide variety of PR campaigns (music, entertainment, tech etc.)
• Ability to work globally with a broad range and level of team members, clients and artists.

REQUIREMENTS
• B.A. Degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field
• Proven experience within the music and entertainment industry
• Proven experience in team management
• Proven experience in delivering strategic PR campaigns across music and entertainment
• Experience delivering financial targets
• Experience in publicity recruitment
• Established relationships within the music industry
• Established relationships within the media throughout online, print & TV and more
• Stellar track record of securing top-tier placements with resources to back
• Positive, can-do attitude and passion for music and entertainment.
