With operations in Los Angeles and New York, multi-genre Independent record label Weirdo Workshop, LLC is offering Summer and Fall internships to the aspiring young professional who is passionate, creative, competitive, flexible, and forward thinking, to join it's Los Angeles division Artist Development team. This opportunity is Ideal for the individual seeking a career in A&R, Touring and Production or Artists/Record Label management. Interns gain first-hand experience working within a fast-paced creative team developing projects and learning all aspects of entertainment from A&R and Marketing, to Live Event Production.
Responsibilities
• Support artists throughout live performance and recording studio activities
• Load-in, setup, and load-out backline equipment (i.e. keyboard road cases, cable bags, stands etc.) at artists rehearsals and live shows
• Support artists show development by recording concise notes on band setup as directed
• Attending brainstorming meetings assisting with developing new ideas connecting artists to fans
• Monitoring and coding backline inventory
• Complete errands and orders for accommodations such as food, snacks, beverages and other artists/company request
• Assist and support the department head and Los Angeles team with other day-to-day activities as delegated
Basic Qualifications
• Candidates must be a junior or senior currently enrolled in an accredited college or university or be a recent recent graduate from an accredited college or university
• Must be based locally in the Los Angeles area and able to commute your own reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Able to maintain a positive attitude and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must have extreme attention to detail and have the ability to apply themselves to any task no matter the size
• Must be able to perform well under pressure and be a self-starter who is able to work independently and as part of a team
• Must knowing basic cabling, cable maintenance, and signal flow
• Working knowledge of Pro Tools systems
• Strong file organization skills
• Able to work both remotely and on location for joining team activities and meetings
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong passion for music, entertainment, or event production
• Flexile hours and able and willing to work late night for performances and sessions
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint or Apple Numbers, Pages, and Keynote
• Some knowledge of databases, inventory, archiving is preferred but not required
• Able to provide and utilize your own laptop
