General Job Description:
WCIU-TV, CW26 gives Chicago a fresh new start to the day with The Jam TV show. Our stations morning show airs weekdays 6am-8am. Bold and unfiltered, the program features a combination of local and national headlines, unique weather coverage and dedication to the Chicagoans who make the city and surrounding suburbs great. The Jam is in need of a Line Producer, with a strong live TV background and excellent judgment, who is looking for the unique opportunity to be part of our team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible story placement, writing teases, requesting graphics, timing, and all other editorial and production elements.
Ensures producers, social media and website manager(s) post up to date content.
Participate in meetings with staff to discuss production progress and to ensure production objectives are attained.
Collaborates with the promo producer to help create promos.
The Line Producer has a clear understanding of all positions in the newsroom.
Other duties included but not limited to live and taped producing, long and short format writing, research and content development, and post-production supervision.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of previous live television line producing experience.
Top 20 Market experience.
Demonstrate the ability to work with on-air talent, production teams, sponsors and even animals.
Highly organized with strong writing and people skills are a must.
Experience with editing software is a plus.
Flexible work schedule required.
