General Job Description:
WCIU-TV, The U gives Chicago a fresh new start to the day with The Jam TV show. Our stations morning show airs weekdays 6am-8am. Bold and unfiltered, the program features a combination of local and national headlines, unique weather coverage and a dedication to the Chicagoans who make the city and surrounding suburbs great. The Jam is looking for a motivated and creative Field Producer to add to our team!
Duties/Responsibilities:
Works both independently and with reporters/contributors/hosts to produce original live content, primarily for broadcast and additionally for digital and social.
Pitch creative story ideas and work on assigned stories developed by the sales integration team.
Develop and maintain relationships with, and be knowledgeable and current on companies in the coverage area.
Communicates clearly with reporter and field production crews to determine the best coverage plan and live remote locations.
Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Demonstrate the ability to work with on-air talent, production teams and sponsors.
Strong writing skills are a must.
Experience with editing software is a plus.
Flexible work schedule required.
