Position Summary
The Promotions Producer will eat, breathe, and sleep local news, possessing a drive to dominate in a highly-competitive market. This position will be responsible for producing effective on-air promotional spots, digital marketing, and special projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conceive and produce creative marketing campaigns for TV broadcast, digital, and social media for both the station and the station's clients.
Write, produce, shoot, and edit news, weather and image promotions
Proficient in all aspects of non-linear editing
Operate DSLR and other camera types with fixed and detachable lenses with various focal lengths, and manage support systems for the cameras
Utilize creative lighting techniques, in-house and in the field
Manage and monitor audio, in-house and in the field
Assist with station-sponsored events
Manage promotion inventory on daily station logs
Juggle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines effectively
Requirements & Skills:
College education preferred in an art-related degree: film, graphic design, fine arts, etc.; or a closely-related field or equivalent experience is a plus.
Self-motivated person who can work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment and help lead and inspire a marketing team.
Must be experienced with social media, web, and commercial production projects.
Must be willing to work in a fast-paced news environment.
Fluency in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload(s).
Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Being flexible and a team player is important to be successful in this position. Adapt to rapid changes and deadlines.
General computer experience is necessary in both Windows- and Mac-based operating systems.
Have adequate transportation, current driver's license and good driving record. Must pass background check.
Strong writing skills and video shooting and editing experience.
Have a willingness to learn and advance, bringing energy to the team.
Ability to meet and exceed quality standards.
Flexibility to work any shift to include weekend assignments as well as ''on-call'' status as determined by management.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Services, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Keen sense of composition and graphics
DSLR camera and other camera types experience.
Familiarity with various lens types and brands (e.g., prime, zoom, fixed, etc.).
Familiarity with ISO, f-stops/t-stops, shutter speed, frame rate(s), etc.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The PROMOTIONS PRODUCER must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions on occasion, and work indoors in environmentally-controlled conditions. The PROMOTIONS PRODUCER must be able to lift, set-up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
