We are looking for a new team member with experience producing video and audio content, ideally including podcasts and/or talk shows, and a passion for storytelling, entertainment, and social change.
The Man Enough Podcast Producer will be responsible for developing, producing, and overseeing all aspects of The Man Enough Podcast, which explores what it means to be human through open conversations with experts and celebrities.
This role includes managing the production process from pre-production through post-production and delivery, talent booking and relations, managing show advertising and sponsorships, and coordinating with Marketing to ensure effective and meaningful communications with the audience and press. It is imperative that this role be able to incorporate and reflect the message, tone, and content of Man Enough across the episodes and each digital and social platform, and to work with the team to consistently broaden engagement of Man Enough's audience and community through creative, well-produced and well-timed content. This person must have experience producing and/or managing content projects, ideally including podcasts, serial talk shows, short form original video and/or social content. This person will create and maintain Man Enough Podcast guest lists, production schedules, communication templates, and milestone management across the entire life of the series, including adjacent projects and events, and coordination with other departments and external partners. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of how people digest and engage with podcasts and social content, have an eye for detail, and stay up-to-date on emerging platforms, industry trends, and best practices. Experience with and passion for gender equality, positive masculinity, purpose-driven content, and/or branded entertainment are a huge plus.
This is a full-time position based in our West Hollywood office.
Responsibilities
- Lead management of Podcast production from pre-production through post-production.
- Work closely with the SVP of Man Enough, as well as with other department heads and teams, to ensure seamless communication for all deliverables associated with each project.
- Facilitate and manage podcast guest relations including booking and scheduling, partner development, and recording logistics.
- Curate, develop, and pitch compelling guests and timely topics for episodes in line with podcast audience, mission, and intent.
- Research confirmed talent, and prepare scripts/beat sheets for podcast episodes which include guest facts, themes, and host questions.
- Create and maintain project calendars, timelines, and budgets with accurate and complete information related to deadlines, deliverables, and dates
- Coordinate production logistics for both studio and remote episodes, including Host scheduling and/or travel, legal (NDA's, release forms, etc), production hiring, COVID-19 protocols and procedure, meals, and post-production workflow.
- Oversee post-production of episodes, including implementing episode feedback and edit approved show notes, promo and editorial direction, coordinating episode and content approvals, and delivery of final assets to Hosts, Guests and Marketing.
- Work with Ad Sales to manage and deliver podcast advertising.
- Manage, vet and facilitate production of ad reads from hosts, including writing custom ad scripts.
- Responsible for quality control, presentation and accuracy of all work.
- Prepare and deliver episodes across platforms, including YouTube and Megaphone.fm
- Collaborate with Marketing in selecting promo assets and writing text to position multimedia content for maximum engagement across multiple platforms, including social media channels, website and email
- Assist and participate in the ideation and production of Man Enough digital and social content and campaigns, in partnership with Marketing, which could include videos, graphics/memes, newsletters, articles, and branded/partnered content.
- Develop and implement processes, systems, and documents to improve strategy and operational efficiency.
- Responsible for quality control, presentation and accuracy of all work.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3+ years of experience producing and distributing content, ideally including podcasts, narrative audio, and/or multimedia talk show content
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills
- Familiarity with the post-production process and best practices
- Familiarity with best practices on major podcast networks and distribution platforms (e.g. Megaphone)
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and how they are best used to promote content series
- Strong judgment about interview questions, guest management and ability to work under deadline pressure
- Experience with content management/online publishing systems
- Comfort working with budgets, spreadsheets, and databases
