Summary:

Wavelets Entertainment, Inc., is a script development company funded by China's Alibaba and Hong Kong's Media Asia. Wavelets sources and develops web series dramas and feature films for the Chinese streaming marking.

Job Summary:

Wavelets is looking for a Mandarin-speaking showrunner to join us in the writers room for web series script development with the next generation of story tellers.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the show's storyline, arc and plot
• Create and protect the vision for the show
• Lead writers in creating concepts, breaking story arcs and building character arcs
• Manage and develop materials such as series bible, outlines and beatsheets
• Attend creative meetings with other development executives and implement feedback

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Up to date with the current trends across all streaming platforms in China
• Strong communication skills
• Creative, strategic and forward-thinking
• Thrives working in a creative fast-paced setting
• Positive attitude and receptive to development notes
• Have a flexible and humble attitude
• Proficiency in English & Chinese (able to speak and write)
• Proficiency with Final Draft and Google Suite

Related Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a TV writers' room setting
• Previous screenwriting credit for feature films and/or TV series
• Bachelor's or master's degree in screenwriting
