Company Summary:

Wavelets Entertainment, Inc. is a script development company funded by China's Alibaba and Hong Kong's Media Asia. Wavelets sources and develops web series dramas and feature films for the Chinese streaming market.

Internship Summary:

Wavelets is seeking individuals with the interest and capabilities to research the Chinese/Hollywood film market and shifting trends in how digital content is delivered to consumers. Interns will learn about the Chinese film production industry and process from script to screen.

Responsibilities:

• Read literary materials and write coverages
• Conduct industry research and provide analyses and keynote reports
• Attend and take notes on calls/meetings
• Assist direct manager and/or other managers

This internship will take place remotely as a result of Covid-19 and will not include on-set work. Interns will be working closely with their direct manager and provide support and assistance to the rest of the team when necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program with a focus on film studies, film production or related major(s)
• Able to commit at least 3 months to the internship and at least 24 hours per week
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, with high attention to detail
• Positive, collaborative attitude
• Proficient in Final Draft, Google Suite, Adobe Suite and Keynote
• Eligible to receive school credits

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience at a development co., production co., agency or writers' room
• Prior experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in research and analysis
• Fast reader and typer: Able to read 30 pages/hour and type 70 WPM

Benefits

The internship opportunity is unpaid, compensated via school credits. Lunch will be reimbursed.
