Are you a dynamic, versatile, and passionate professional dancer trained in multiple genres of dance?! We'd love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
• Participate in weekly rehearsals (2-3) and any assigned games and appearances.
• Must be available for 35 of 41 home games during the regular season and all playoff games during the postseason if applicable.
• Learn and perform high-energy choreographed dance routines, sidelines, fillers, acrobatic tricks, technical skills, and freestyle performances.
• Move throughout the arena to actively engage and connect with fans.
• Understand and thrive in a team dynamic and communicate effectively with management and teammates.
• Serve as an ambassador of the Washington Wizards organization, and conduct themselves in a manner which upholds the character, tradition, integrity, and spirit of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old as of registration date.
• Dancers must be committed for the entire 2026-27 basketball season and up to the 2027 audition date.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Virtual Audition Timeline: Registration: May 11-26, Video Submissions: May 29 - June 4, Semi-Finalist Notification: June 5.
• In Person Audition Phase: Semi-Finals: June 13, Training Camp: June 15-17, Final Audition: June 18.
• Video Submission Guidelines:
• Submit a 30-second, horizontal video showcasing their signature style. It should showcase abilities that you currently have and represent YOU.
• Attire should complement you and your selected dance style.
• A solo video is highly recommended, but we will also accept a dance reel or a small group video that focuses on you.
• A brief intro (name & hometown) is recommended but not required. This may be in addition to the 30 seconds of your performance.
• Record horizontally and ensure you remain in frame throughout your performance.
• A professional video is not required. Most phone cameras produce a quality recording. For the best results, choose 1080p HD at 60 fps or 4K at 60 fps within your camera settings.
• You may select your own music, but it must be clean (no profanity). We also suggest using an app to add/overlay music for the best sound quality.
