The Manager, Fan Development is responsible for growing, engaging, and retaining our fan base through strategic community initiatives and immersive experiences while also supporting revenue objectives. This role focuses on building deep relationships with fans, enhancing brand loyalty, and expanding our reach through both digital and in-person channels. This role will also include analyzing social and fan data from community initiatives/activations to assist in elevating fan engagement decisions.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and implement assigned League Platform Theme Nights including Military Appreciation, MLK Game, and Black History Month.
• Manage League-wide and Wizards Player Awards (i.e. NBA Community Assist, All-Star Voting and Dr. E.B. Henderson Team Award)
• Develop strategy, manage, and execute Wizards Black Owned DMV program, including ways to amplify and enhance.
• Assist in collaboration to develop and implement social responsibility initiatives and programs (e.g., Black History Month, Military Appreciation, voter engagement).
• Assist in providing support to the Monumental Sports Foundation and other Monumental Sports teams to support company-wide initiatives, including school programs, Monumental Thankful Meals, Family-to-Family, and KABOOM! playground builds.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to plan and execute community events, game day activations and theme nights.
• Work with the corporate partnerships team to implement partner-specific community platforms, ensuring seamless execution and effective measurement and reporting.
• Assist in overseeing and managing Fan Development Coordinators, Assistant and Interns.
• Write copy, provide creative assets, and submit internal design requests through the Wrike project management system.
• Work closely with Integrated Marketing and Social Media teams to optimize our social media strategy based on audience engagement, campaign performance, and competitive analysis.
• Analyze campaign/event effectiveness and provide actionable insights to improve social or email content, timing, and audience targeting.
• Experience in managing a marketing budget, including invoice tracking and coordinating with finance for timely payments.
• Collaborate to identify community-based organizations and nonprofits to receive complimentary game tickets.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years of experience in marketing, fan development, or community outreach, including social and analytical experience
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent Monumental's values in the community.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with high attention to detail.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with experience juggling multiple events and outreach efforts simultaneously.
• Experience managing and tracking budgets.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays; maintain a flexible work schedule and work extended hours.
Pay Range: $65k - 75k USD
