Position Overview: The Family Support and Enrichment Lead is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the families associated with the Washington Wizards organization, including players, coaches, staff, and executives. This role serves as the primary point of contact for addressing diverse needs and ensuring the smooth integration, and continuation of families into the fabric of our team. This position is responsible for leading numerous aspects of family support and programming and assists in the overall mission of the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Cultivate and champion strong, positive relationships with staff, coaches, players, their family members, and close associates to facilitate meaningful engagement opportunities.
• Provide ongoing support to families by maintaining regular communication and assisting in their needs.
• Plan, organize, and implement a wide range of social, philanthropic, and developmental activities for the Wizards family and significant other groups, ensuring seamless coordination and implementation.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all family communication, emphasizing streamlined and efficient communication channels.
• Proactively engage with family members to anticipate and address potential challenges and needs.
• Lead player and staff relocation services in collaboration with relevant departments, facilitating smooth transitions for incoming and existing team members.
• Assist in player and staff onboarding processes, particularly for rookies and new acquisitions.
• Identify and communicate relevant internal and external resources to meet diverse needs.
• Develop and maintain strong connections within the DMV area, including residential housing, hotels, restaurants, schools, daycares, and other community resources.
• Coordinate all aspects of the family game day experience, including pre-planning, logistics, staffing, communication, and onsite management.
• Serve as the primary contact for family rooms during home games, overseeing pre- and post-game activities and monitoring all family areas.
• Manage staff and player tickets and parking requests for all home games.
• Assist in coordinating team activities, social events, and community engagement initiatives.
• Plan and complete memorable events, such as family days, with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on creating a VIP experience reflecting the team's care and appreciation for its members.
• Monitor and acknowledge significant life events of staff, players, and their family members, ensuring that events such as birthdays, anniversaries, and achievements are celebrated in a personalized and meaningful manner. Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments on player and family programs and initiatives.
• Support player engagement programming as directed, contributing to the full spectrum of player development initiatives.
• Stay informed on all league and players association policies and programs related to players and their families.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3 years working in professional or collegiate sports; athlete development experience preferred.
• Servant leader with a desire to form significant relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once, setting priorities and using time wisely.
• Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess a high level of curiosity, initiative, and drive.
• Natural sense of ownership for duties and timelines, as well as drive for continuous improvement in self and others.
• Handles confidential, sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion and diligence.
• Must show a high degree of sensitivity toward the unique and diverse issues of a professional sports franchise while solving problems and facilitating team objectives.
• Demonstrated proficiency in event planning, with a track record of organizing successful and memorable events, preferably within a professional sports or similar high-profile environment.
• Experience in college recruiting is considered a valuable asset.
Pay Range: $110-140,000 USD.
