Position Overview: This position will lead the staffing, management and implementation of dedicated sales campaign to achieve targeted revenue and ticket sales goals for the Washington Wizards Regional Sales Team through the sales and service of a full menu of ticket products.
Responsibilities:
• Provide a hands-on role in the hiring and managing of a dedicated staff of 12 sales representatives.
• Assists in leading the overall sales efforts for sales staff, including directing sales activities, setting and reviewing sales goals and training and mentoring the staff.
• Join representatives on sales calls and appointments to instruct on and assist with the sales process where applicable.
• Coach representatives in the development, planning and execution of group theme nights throughout the season.
• Monitor volume of sales activities, face to face appointments, reporting of sales results, and monitoring prospect pipelines for department.
• Use enthusiastic tactics to craft new sales opportunities.
• Establish professional relationships to build repeat business.
• Work with the Business Intelligence team to set up and maintain up-to-date records on existing customers and prospects in company database.
• Work Wizards home games for the purpose of managing staff and supporting ticket sales efforts and promotional initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• You will have a minimum of 5 years successful ticket sales experience with a pro or college sports team, and at least 2 years of successful sales management experience.
• You will posses a daring, high-reaching and dedicated attitude and passion for professional basketball.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with both internal and external clients at all levels of the organization.
• Results-oriented approach to both selling and sales management.
• Strong time management skills and willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong MS Word and PowerPoint experience.
• Experience with Archtics and TicketMaster is preferred, but not required.
