2024 Photo Editor (Part-Time)
Summary:
Reporting to the Team Photographer, the Part-Time Game Day Photo Editor will serve as a valuable member of the Photography Team to help shape the visual storytelling of the Washington Nationals' ballpark experience. The position will act as a live photo editor for all home game days with a focus on color-correcting images, writing metadata, and readying images for immediate use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collect the best images uploaded of each moment as they happen.
• Edit images in Adobe Lightroom Classic, using team presets with minor adjustments to retain the Nationals' brand and photo style.
• Caption and tag the metadata of every photo with the highest accuracy to ensure ease with locating in the future.
• Upload to the team's online photo archiving system (PhotoShelter) as well as Greenfly for team access.
• Work with the Social Team to determine any immediate needs in-game.
• Communicate with Photo Team on the field with any requests or troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Photo Team to fulfill photo requests from Corporate Sponsorship, Ticket Sales, website/social media needs, etc.
• Assist Photo Team with team operations and other imaging needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3 years of photography experience, preferably within professional or college sports organizations, or equivalent experience gained through relevant college courses.
• Highly skilled with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, including Lightroom Classic and Photoshop.
• Strong Knowledge of Photo Mechanic and ability to write general metadata to ensure proper organization and retrieval of image files.
• Experience with Photoshelter and file management.
• Good working knowledge of Apple Mac OS.
• Strong attention to detail and typing efficiency.
• Strong artistic vision and creative abilities.
• Action-oriented, highly organized, and ability to multi-task.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
• Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires weekend and/or evening work whenever there are games or events scheduled.
• Gameday: Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
