Summary:
The Washington Nationals are actively searching for an individual who has a passion for Event marketing and PR and is committed to excellence to be our Manager of Nationals Park Events. Our mission is to create exceptional and memorable experiences for our guests. Keeping the community demographics, attendee experience and organization values in mind, the Manager will innovate our process and channels to increase attendance at our events. The Manager of Nationals Park Events is the marketing, advertising, and social media manager for the department. This person will be expected to join the Destination DC Marketing Committee, partner with Events DC, and become familiar with all local and national events marketing tools. In addition to their focus on Marketing, this individual will also help with the logistics for our self-produced events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Nationals Marketing team on campaign and creative requests for Nationals Park Events
• Coordinate with channel stakeholders on marketing plans for Nationals Park Events from website updates, email drafts, paid campaigns, and signage
• Work with Nationals Marketing to fulfill against paid media campaigns
• Coordinate owned media assets such as web and email
• Seek input on social media best practices from Nationals Marketing Social Team
• Manage the marketing relationship with Destination DC
• Contract inclusions for both games and non-game day
• Draft, submit, and manage all Nationals Park Event Content
• Liaise with marketing to Destination DC for all Gameday promotion
• Collaborate with the Executive Director of Nationals Park Events and the Event Producer to create marketing plans and corresponding strategies
• Manage house account logistics in the planning stage and onsite
• Collaborate on league-wide calls concert marketing calls with all MLB teams
• Maintain marketing collateral inventory and manage updates as needed
• Work with appropriate departments to manage on-sales, marketing, communications /PR, and ticket operations for concerts, self-produced events, and other large-scale events
• Market Nationals Park Events with organizations such MPI, PCMA, Cvent, and Unique Venues
• Draft sales presentations and maintain with current imagery, space/location names and pricing
• Maintain a library of Nationals Park Events specific photos to be used for presentations
• Recommend advertising ideas and content to book Nationals Park Events
• Assist, VP, Executive Director and Event Producer on logistics for our self-produced events including sponsor activation and event timelines and operations.
Supervisory:
• Manage the coordinator of Nationals Park Events
Research and Analytics:
• Analyze ad performance and develop ideas for new marketing opportunities.
• Develop a deep understanding of our target audience and market trends to best inform them
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or other related field
• Three to five years of event marketing experience
• Prior experience in corporate, entertainment and social event marketing preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in the coordination of a wide variety of public and private events.
• Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and dependable.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, cross-functional teams, and external parties.
• Knowledge and proficiency in Internet communications technologies, (e-mail, Web, blogs, social media etc.) and MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work will require weekend and/or evening work.
Compensation:
The projected salary for this position is between $56,702-$75,602 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
