Intern - Photography

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Summary:

Reporting to the Team Photographer, the Photography Intern will gain valuable experience working in marketing for a Major League Baseball team, helping to shape the visual storytelling of the Washington Nationals' ballpark experience. The position will act as a photo assistant to the team photographer on game days. The primary focus will be on photo editing and tagging live content. There will be opportunities to assist in capturing additional game initiatives and imaging needs that support the sales, marketing, and communications departments.

The intern will need to be available to work in person in Washington, DC from approximately April – October 2023.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Edit and tag top images from the live feed of content during games for immediate social and requested use.
• Assist in photography coverage of games, community events, and other special team events.
• Collaborate with Team Photographer to fulfill photo requests from Corporate Sponsorship, Ticket Sales, website/social media needs, etc.
• Assist in maintaining the team’s online photo archiving system (Photoshelter).
• Assist Team Photographer with team operations and imaging needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Photography graduate course work or a minimum of 1 year experience preferred
• Successfully pass a background investigation
• Available for the entire term of the internship
• Authorized to work in the United States

• Good working knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom, and Photo Mechanic

Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Position may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
• Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. Position entails extensive interaction with fans and guests of Nationals Park. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
