Summary:
The Executive Director, Game Production & Engineering is responsible for managing all game day audio/visual productions, content and systems for the Washington Nationals. This position will oversee the infrastructure of the Nationals Park Control Room and all of its related systems as well as the broadcasting infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Game Day Production
• Create new revenue streams for Corporate Partnership and Ticket Sales & Services and Ballpark Enterprises through in venue production capabilities
• Oversee Scoreboard budgets
• Oversee the creation of all audio/visual content for games and events
• Oversee all internal departments in the most effective use of in venue production systems
• Oversee the design and implementation of all graphical and statistical content
• Oversee live productions and events in conjunction Ballpark Events as well as outside companies and clients
• Oversee the implementation of Nationals branding in all in venue audio/visual productions
• Oversee and manage the activation of the external digital advertising LED screens
Conceptualizing
• Conceptualize creative ideas for Corporate Sponsorships, Group Sales and other internal and external groups
• Conceptualize new and innovative audio-visual concepts to entertain our fans
Management
• Manage full-time, game day and non-game day scoreboard production staff
• Director, Video & Broadcast Engineering
• Manager, Video & Broadcast Engineering
• Director, Game Production & Operations
• Manager, Digital Signage
• Designer, Digital Graphics
• Manager, Motion Graphics & Animation
• Motion Graphic Designer & Editor
• Over 50 game day Scoreboard employees
• Manage the development of all staff members, ensuring their skills advance
• Manage the contracts for all scoreboard needs
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study with a demonstrated knowledge and proven track record of entertainment practices and principles
• Advanced game production and control room experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience developing creative concepts, producing broadcast-quality video or large-scale stadium/arena live sporting events
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with large screen displays
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with production switchers & routing systems
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with non-linear editing systems
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with motion graphics programs
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with graphics programs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
• Advanced knowledge of control room systems
• High level client relationship experience
• Knowledge of baseball, its rhythms, history and rules
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously
• Ability to prioritize jobs on short notice, and establish and manage priorities
• Ability to manage a large group of employees successfully
• Ability to travel during Spring Training and throughout the season as needed
• Available to work long irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
• Strong teamwork and relationship building skills
• Strong decision-making skills
• Professional baseball and/or other professional sports production experience.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Work will require weekend and evening work
• Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue
• May work at heights
• Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances and climb up/down stairs
• The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
